Gymnastic skill, sheer strength, bit o’ dance, bit o’ cheesecake. And it has costumes! I think I like the Fitness category of bodybuilding best!

Feel like it’s too late in your teens for you to take up a sport or dance or somesuch because everybody good started when they were 3 years-old? Or, maybe you’re a more mature reader of Tumblr and feel it’s legit to claim you’re too old, tired or just plain busy to work out? Is that what you said? Sorry, it’s difficult to hear over the sound of sports records being crushed by this 93-year-old who started working out at the age of 85! I’m a personal trainer and would love to have a client like him. He’s my new hero.
Found a streak of vintage fitspo amongst the Valentines!

Be Inspired
Lorna Jane’s Fitspiration clip on YouTube makes me want to get up, get kitted out and get sweaty. Also, makes me want to update my workout playlist, so stay tuned for a fresh new workout track list.
Delightful! Opportunities to exercise are all around us, if we’re creative, determined and spirited. Kudos to the makers of this video, who’ve beat the tired ol’ excuse, “I just don’t have time to exercise.”
For every woman who has ever asked, “Won’t weight-training or lifting heavy make me look like a man?”
(As a dancer, I gotta add, most of them could use some tutelage on movement.)

Wanting to look good is not necessarily negative motivation for getting fit, but it can quickly run out or, for some, become an unhealthy obsession. Here’s an inspiring man with a deep motivating force. A little thing like aging can’t stop him:
Meet Ben. Ben is 72 years old and the sole caretaker of his disabled adult son. He started attending Crossfit in order to build & maintain the strength he needed in order to be able to pick his son up out of his wheelchair regularly. Everyday he is in the gym cracking jokes and attempting whatever is thrown at him-regardless of his ability. Here he is squatting 115lbs! He is the sweetest man I’ve ever met and my favorite gym buddy. So for all of you thinking “I can’t”, “I won’t”, “Its too hard” or “What’s the point?” - Find a reason. Find a reason to live the best life that you can. Your health is more important than simply looking good in a bikini. Your life, and in some cases the lives of others, depends on it. If Ben can do it, than so can you!
